Pray for our Pastor

To my fellow followers of Jesus. I was reminded this past week of a pressing need that we have as men. The need to pray without ceasing. The need to lift one another up to Almighty God. We can do this because the Blood does speak, as Brother Jimmy taught us Sunday night.

The need I am talking about now however, is to pray EVERY day for our Pastor. I believe with all my heart that the man of God is worthy of double honor. I believe our Pastor should be undergirded by the prayers of the men he has Spiritual responsibility for. Let us pray for God's protection over Bro. Jimmy and his family, His wisdom to lead the people at SSBC, His peace which passes all understanding, and His power in our Pastor's life.

BASS: Please join me in committing to pray for Brother Jimmy and his family every day, not that they are under a particular attack or are in trouble now, but we should mindful of the thought that we should offer prayer for them. I believe if we want to see miraculous healing in the lives of our men and their families, we must fall to our knees before Holy God and plead with Him to move in our men.

Let us be vigilent in this. Pray for your Pastor.

In Jesus,

Joey

Our breakfast this past Saturday was awesome. The Holy Spirit was present. You
could feel the love and fellowship. We had a record attendance. Kevin Birchfield
gave an inspiring word from the Lord. Since it was Valentines Day, BASS had a rose
for each man to take to his wife, mother, or girlfriend.

Please join me in praying for Joan's brother, Bennie. The Lord has brought him so far. He has a bunch of tests to go through to try and get on the heart transplant list. He has a colonoscopy tomorrow. Even this fairly simple test is more risky in his weakened condition. Thank you for all of your prayers. God is in control. I thought his picture would help you picture him in your minds.

OUR MONTHLY TIME OF FELLOWSHIP

Just a reminder that our next men's breakfast is next Saturday (Feb. 14). We will start eating at 8:00am. We will end promptly at 9:00am. Bring a friend and come enjoy this time of fellowship.

Answered Prayer

I would like to thank all of you who have been praying for my brother-in-law, Bennie. We have certainly felt the prayers. He was totally lifeless when I arrived at Vanderbilt on Tuesday. He has been gradually improving a little each day. Let me tell me what his needs are so that you will know how to continue to pray for him. The heart medicine that he has been on since 1996 has damaged his lungs. If the damage is light to moderate, he can still be put on the heart transplant list. If they are heavily damaged there is nothing else they can do. Please continue to pray for Bennie, that his lung damage will be minimal. You guys are a great band of prayer warriors and I look forward to standing in the gap for you at your time of need.

Post Woodstock

Ronnie, Kevin, and Roger having a good time at Woodstock. Press on Brothers.

We had a great trip to Woodstock this year. God answered prayers and built relationships. Men were encouraged and went home with new strength to help their wives and care for their families. We were also challenged to have and maintain our "quiet time" with God and to be involved in discipleship.

I am more persuaded that the Lord wants us to be a big group of small groups. We learn more about each other and can better help one another in small groups. Some of this is proved out in the way we traveled to Woodstock this year....we took 4 - 5 vehicles to transport 29 guys to the conference this year.

I encourage you to keep up with the guys you were spending time with this weekend. Remember the lessons you learned and the conversations you had.

In Jesus,

Joey
